Please note I was gifted the dress that’s pictured here in exchange for a review, but all opinions are my own. Know that I would never promote a product in which I do not believe and would not recommend to my best friend.
Being a petite woman who loves all things fashion, the struggle to find fashion trends that fit is oh too real. And when you add a budget to that, it becomes nearly impossible!
Yes, we can always get it altered and tailored, but that also assumes that it’s somewhat in the vicinity of our size in the first place, or they’ll be redoing the whole thing. Also, for those of us with a budget, we have to keep the price of alterations in mind when we’re buying the items in the first place! Don’t get me wrong, I have my tailor on “speed dial” and I don’t think I’d have half my closet without her, but there’s just something about buying a dress or a top that fits perfectly from the racks…a strangely satisfying feeling that we petites rarely get to feel…
However, I have recently noticed that a lot of brands are starting to shift a bit of their focus to the short and petite segment of their target market, but still not enough, and sometimes the prices just don’t work, because not everyone has extra discretionary income to afford a $600 blouse!
Though these problems probably won’t be completely gone for a good while, a brand I just discovered maybe paving the way to a solution! eShakti basically takes the middle man out so you get the perfect fit that you determine, without going to tailor.
It’s the age of couture, and E-Shakti makes it possible. That is a miracle for those outside of the average size…
The idea is pretty simple: you select a pre-made design from the site, and then add your own customizations to it, along with your measurements.
My experience with eShakti was nothing less than perfect! It took about two weeks from the time I placed the order for it to arrive at my doorstep. It seems like a long time, but considering that they are making a dress or top for you specifically, with your measurements, I didn’t think it was too bad…
The process was quite easy as well. First, as I mentioned, you select the general design. Once selected, you make changes such as the sleeve length and design, neckline design, and skirt length and design. There’s also a very easy option if you’d like to go with the design exactly as shown.
Next are the measurements. You can either go with the standard sizes, for which they give you great guidance, or put in your own measurements, for which they provide detailed instructions with pictures. Something to keep in mind is that it’s much easier to do this part if someone helps with measuring.
And lastly, pricing. Everything considered, the extent to which you can customize the pieces to truly make it your own, get it to fit you perfectly and they way you want it to fit, prices are very reasonable at just over a hundred for the most expensive options that they carry!
I’d definitely like to get something else from them again, and try the process over. Since their designs are on trend, I’d love to try a top next time.
If you have tried eShakti, let me know in the comments how you liked it! Either way, I’d love to know your thoughts on this concept. Would you consider it (they currently have a $35 off coupon when you register, just FYI)? Let me know!
